Broome to Horizontal Falls

Your journey begins in Broome, where you're collected from your accommodation in the late afternoon and welcomed aboard with drinks and nibbles as the ship steams out past Cable Beach. By day two you're already at one of the Kimberley's signature moments: the Horizontal Falls, where the skipper eases the vessel through the churning tidal rush at Talbot Bay. It's worth seeing sooner rather than later, too — access to the falls is set to change under new regulations from the end of 2026.

Doubtful Bay to Kings Cascade

The days that follow settle into the rhythm this cruise is built around: fishing for barramundi and mangrove jack, swimming in hidden freshwater pools, and gathering your own oysters at low tide. You'll steam through Doubtful Bay, watch Montgomery Reef rise dramatically from the ocean as the tide drops, and anchor beneath Kings Cascade, where the ship noses in directly under the falls for a swim few travellers ever get to experience.

Ancient art and the diamond in the crown

The second half of the voyage moves through Camp Creek, the Mermaid Tree and Biggie Island before reaching Vansittart Bay, home to some of the best-preserved Bradshaw rock art in the Kimberley and the wreck of a WWII DC-3. From there, you'll travel to King George River for what many guests call the highlight of the entire trip: standing at the bow as Diversity II or III moves in under the 84-metre King George Falls, followed by a walk to the top and a swim in King George Crack. The final days wind up the Berkeley River in search of barramundi before a last sunset dinner and arrival into Wyndham.

Life aboard

Diversity II and Diversity III are purpose-built luxury catamarans carrying a maximum of 12 guests across 6 spacious, air-conditioned ensuite cabins with large panoramic windows, serviced daily. You're looked after by a crew of five, with three expedition tenders for fishing and shore excursions, complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi throughout, and an award-winning galley turning your freshly caught seafood and local produce into each evening's dinner. Drinks and snacks, all meals and daily housekeeping are included; alcohol is arranged through the ship's purchasing service, and Indigenous land access passes are invoiced separately.
